This well-kept and nicely-optioned V50 is a very interesting all-rounder for less than ten grand. Built on a platform shared with the Mazda3 and the Ford Focus, the V50 is a nimble and entertaining chassis, and with Volvo’s punchy turbo 5 cylinder under hood, it certainly doesn’t lack for power. Plus the V50 is far better appointed than either a Focus of a Mazda3.
This example also appears to have been pampered throughout its first decade of life, with a longtime owner who’s brought it to the same dealer for the service over the last 90k miles.
Offered on craigslist HERE by a private seller in the Portland area for $9000, which on the high side of KBB’s estimates. If it checks out, I think $8000 would be well bought.
