A nicely-kept W211 generation E-class sedan is a good thing, but it’s made even better by slipping a good old-fashioned iron-block inline-six turbodiesel engine under the hood. With 201 hp and 369 lb-ft of twist, this last of a long tradition of overbuilt Benz diesels is plenty powerful, and it returns 27 MPG in combined driving, impressive for a large luxury sedan. Plus, no AdBlue or any other such emissions additives are required.
It’s also nice to see one of these in one of the more interesting colors available at the time, Bordeaux Red.
Offered on Autotrader HERE by a private seller in the Miami area for a little over ten grand, it’s a little pricer than its gasoline equivalents, but the ask is consistent with the market for the diesel variants, which is strong.
