I have an odd affection for these first-gen Insights, which marked Honda’s first foray into the hybrid market. They are highly optimized for fuel economy, which is reflected in their extreme aero design elements as well as their small size and light weight. You get the sense that the engineers were behind most of the choices here, rather than the marketing department. I think that’s why I find them so compelling.
This is probably the best one I’ve ever seen offered. With just 28k miles and a brand new battery pack, it’s as close to a new one as you’re likely to find. It’s also got a manual gearbox, which is much less common than the automatic. And it’s a good color, to boot.
Offered on craigslist HERE by a private seller in the Portland area for a fiver less than $8000. It’s not cheap, but I think it would be worth paying a little extra such an excellent example.
