If you’re on the hunt for something fun and also a little different, this Crossfire coupe is worth a serious look. It’s basically a Mercedes-Benz SLK with some distinctive Chrysler styling and assembled by storied German coach-builder Karmann. Not a bad pedigree.
This example features not only extremely low miles but also a rare 6-speed manual gearbox, which should help to make the most of the 215 hp Benz V6 under its long hood. And, at least to my eye, it looks pretty fetching in coupe form, with some distinctively Art Deco touches. It’s kind of like a marriage between an Audi TT and a BMW Z3 Coupe, and not in a bad way.
It’s offered on craigslist HERE by a private seller in the Bay Area for $11,500, which is rather a lot for one of these, so I’d suggest haggling a bit. If you could pick it up for less than ten grand, that would be pretty well bought.
