These first-gen ML-series (now GLE-series) SUVs are silly cheap nowadays, in part because the first few years were a little buggy. But by 2002 most of the issues were sorted out, and they’re surprisingly nice to drive, featuring bulletproof powertrains with the M112 and M113 V6s and V8s under hood, backed by the workhorse 722.6 5-speed automatic.
This example is about everything you could ask for with not too many miles, just two SoCal owners, and a documented service history at the local dealer through last year and 69k miles.
Listed on Autotrader HERE by a small dealership in the Seattle area for a hair less than $8000, it’s on the pricey side for one of these but pretty cheap considering what you get. And no doubt the dealer has a little cushion built into the price, so you could likely pick it up for even less.
