While it doesn’t get nearly the respect of the W124 generation that it replaced, the W210 generation E-Class is no slouch of a car. And one of the best iterations out there is this 1997 example in V8 trim. This was one of the only years that the venerable 32-valve M119 engine was offered ('98 was the last year). Backed by the excellent 722.6 5-speed automatic, it’s a sublime combo, offering tons of thrust and making a lovely noise when you dip into the throttle and jump down a cog or two.
This one looks like an excellent specimen with not many miles and a longtime SoCal history. My guess is that even a nice one like this will go for less than $6000, which is terrific value for such a well-engineered car.
