I’ve always had a soft spot for Alfa’s 164, with its well-tailored lines inside and out and its sublime sounding Busso V6, and this is one of the nicest examples I’ve seen in years. While it’s not the most desirable configuration – that would be a 1994 or 1995 model in Quadrifoglio trim – this L variant is still quite compelling with its low miles, near showroom condition, and handsome black-on-black color scheme. I’m even okay with the automatic gearbox here since these are grand tourers not outright sports cars.
Offered on craigslist HERE by a private seller in the San Diego are for $11,500, which is pricey for one of these. Before you pay that much, have it checked out by a specialist to make sure everything is properly sorted. And if it is, I think it would be worth paying a little over market to acquire such a terrific example.
