What’s remarkable about this clean, all-original W124 generation sedan isn’t that it has just 49k miles, it’s that about one year ago it had only half that many. The current owner picked it up from Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco last January with just 26,000 miles on the clock. That is crazy low miles for a rather utilitarian Benz from the 1980s.
There are two reasons why this is good news for the next owner. One of course is that this car is incredibly well preserved. It’s more of a 30k mile example than a 50k mile example. The other is that the car’s been driven pretty substantially over the last 12 months. I am normally wary of super low-mile cars because as soon as you put them on the road you find a bunch of items that need sorting. But the current owner has already done that work for you, and apparently all that’s left to do is brake pads and rotors.
Which makes this otherwise rather plain-looking 300E a rare buying opportunity for someone who is looking for a near perfect W124 example.
Offered on eBay HERE by a private seller in the Bay Area for a buy-it-now price of $8000 – a touch on the high side but I think worth it for someone who values originality above all else.
